You are not alone.
1 in 5 adults report an unmet need for emotional & psychological support. We are here to help.
Emote connects you with top-qualified professionals at a fraction of the cost of in-person therapy.
How Can Online Therapy Help Me?
The great thing about online therapy (also known as “teletherapy” or “e-therapy”) is that it comes with all benefits of traditional therapy—only it’s cheaper and more accessible.
As an online therapy platform, Emote’s goal is to provide everyone with the same quality therapy experience they’d receive at a therapist’s office.
In fact, by speaking with a licensed therapist online, your mental health needs can be addressed at a moment’s notice, cutting out long waitlists, limited visitation hours, and high out-of-pocket costs. All you’ll need is an internet connection and a computer or smartphone.
Benefit: Get immediate support when it’s convenient for you
By using virtual mental health services like Emote, your comfort is in your hands.
One study on online therapy expressed an overall 92% satisfaction rate, with users highlighting convenience, privacy, response time, and quality of service. With online therapy, you can schedule video sessions, use in-app messaging, or a mixture of both. What’s important is your comfort.
Benefit: Understand your feelings and identify your triggers
The role of a licensed counselor or therapist is to help patients understand and cope with their emotions. This includes severe emotional responses, also known as triggers. To do so, they use psychotherapy techniques like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to create a safe, comfortable space for you to speak and learn about yourself. And what is a more comfortable space than your own home?
One study has proposed that virtual CBT sessions are more effective than in-person sessions. By communicating virtually, you don’t have to worry about how you look, sound, or feel. You can just be yourself.
Benefit: Find healthy solutions
You may feel like you’re alone in the world, but you’re not. Depression affects more than 264 million people worldwide. Other mental health conditions like anxiety, BPD, or PTSD are also common—and manageable.
With on-demand and telehealth services like Emote, you can develop healthy coping strategies. Through mindful, personalized live sessions, an online therapist can provide you with the toolset to cope with day-to-day stressors, relationship issues, trauma, and other concerns.
Benefit: Enjoy your life again
Online therapy is not a direct replacement for in-person therapy. However, it does offer you and thousands of others the chance to improve your well-being, address mental health issues, and regain the ability to enjoy life.
Just by speaking with a professional, the weight of everyday stressors or serious medical conditions can feel less daunting. Emote is here to help you achieve this.

- How do I know if I need online therapy?
Therapy is for everyone. Whether you have experienced abuse, addiction, stress, or other mental illnesses, online therapy can help you cope with symptoms, come to terms with past trauma, or simply give you a space to talk about yourself free of judgment.
- Do I need insurance to get online therapy?
You don’t need health insurance to use Emote’s online therapy services. If you do have insurance, be sure to contact your insurance provider about therapy expenses and to what extent they’re covered, if at all. - How much does it cost?
After signing up, your first week of therapy will only cost $35. After which, you can select a text-only subscription plan for $50 per week, with an additional fee of $50 for 30-minute video sessions, or $100 for 60-minute video sessions. You may also select a subscription for weekly or biweekly video sessions.
- Will my private information be confidential?
Absolutely. Under HIPAA laws, your identity and private information are secure and will not be shared with anyone outside of your designated licensed therapist or counselor. Text conversions are encrypted, and video sessions will not be recorded.

The answer is different for everybody. Some people use therapy as a short-term treatment, while others incorporate therapy into their lives. This will depend on your wants and needs.
